Satsuma Plums Water Sugar Milk | Wash fruit, removing stalks. Cut up into pieces, discarding pips. Cover with water, boil well till juice is extracted, then strain. For every 3 cups juice aallow 1-1/2 cups sugar, and boil juice and sugar together for 5 minutes. Bttle and keep in refrigerator. To Serve:, fill glasses half-full with the plum syrup, then fill up with chilled milk, stirring well. The milk will crudle, but the plum drink will be delicious. A great favourite with children. |
