1 Cup Castor Sugar 1-1/2 Cup Boiling Water 1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts 2 tblspns. Cornflour 1 tspn. Cinnamon 1/2 lb. Prunes Juice of 1 Lemon Good Pinch Salt 2 Cups Cold Water. | Soak the Prunes for 1 hour in cold water. Boil until soft in the same water.Stone the prunes, crack the stones and remove the kernels; simmer these with the prunes, sugar,cinnamon and salt for 10 minutes in boiling water.Mix the cornflour to a paste with the cold water; add to the prunes and stir constantly while cooking, for 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and chill well.Serve with cream. |
