Dhal Soft  
1 Cup Green Dhhal or Lentils  
Salt to Taste  
1/2 tspn. Turmeric  
1 tblspn. Butter  
Dash Lemmon Juice  
1 Onion
Soak dhal for 1/2 hour. Slice onion finely and fry in a seprate pan. Cook the dhal or lentils with salt, turmeric and enough hot water to cover to 1 inch above the lentils. Simmer until tender. When tender, test for seasoning and serve with the fried onions strewn on top. Stir in the butter just befor this, and a little lemon juice. Test for seasoning, for both salt and a little sharp tang that the lemon juice should give.
