4 oz. Pearl Barley 2 oz. Butter 6 Onions 2 Carrots 2 Sticks Celery 8 Cups Water 1 Cup Milk 1 tspn. Fresh Herbs | Wash barley. Add water and boil. Fry prepared and diced vegetables in butter for a few minutes. Add barley and water. Season. Simmer for two hours. Rub through sieve. Add milk and if too thin thicken with potato flour or cornflour mixed with water. |
