1 Pear Per Person 1 dssrtspn. Honey Strip of Lemon Rind 2 - 3 Cloves 1 Cup Water to 2 Pears Few Drops Cochineal Colouring | Peel pears, halve, and remove cores. Dissolve honey in water and bring to the boil with cloves and rind. Colour red. Place pears, cut side downwards, in a fireproof dish and pour liquid over. Bake at 300o F for 2-1/2 - 3 hours. The pears should be dark red and semi transparent. Chill and serve with whipped cream. |
